With the British summer having started with a heatwave to match the likes of Europe, and the upcoming weather being compared to that of the Saharan desert, staying home and holidaying in the UK has never sounded so great. So, whether it’s with the kids while they’re off from school, a catch-up with friends, date night or just a spontaneous day alone, why not have a look at what Yorkshire has to offer this summer! From amazing heritage and cultural events to amazing food and drink festivals to eye-catching art exhibitions, we hope you all get a chance to experience the beauty and food Yorkshire has to offer!

A free day out for the kids, at Castle Howard in York (YO60 7DA), open this season from 13th July – 5th September 2019. The newest adventure ground is a great way for the curious minds to explore the rope bridges, slides, nets and climbing equipment in the treetops of Skelf Island!

Starting at £9 per child, and £13 per adult, these guide prices are to attend the art exhibit at York St Mary’s Church (YO1 9RN), from 8th July 20195th January 2020. An amazing way to submerge into the world of Van Gogh’s art for all; with this 360-degree exhibition, after having travelled to both Italy and Belgium!

An exhibition of a classic character, at £3 per ticket and under 2’s free, taking place at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery in Bradford (BD9 4NS), between 15th July – 8th September 2019. A display of original illustrations and manuscripts, and a way to relive your childhood, and experience the magic of Peter Rabbit!

With £32.50 per ticket, taking place at The Grange Hotel (YO30 6AA), between 29th July – 4th August 2019. A great way to celebrate ‘Yorkshire Day’, with a special menu, created with produce from local suppliers, and an excuse to enjoy a great gin-infused meal!

A free to attend event, taking place at St. George’s Square (HD1 1JB), between 1st – 4th August 2019! With trading stalls, and great entertainment, from face-painting to festival buskers; fun for the whole family!

Another free event taking place, on 4th August 2019¸ at The Piece Hall in Halifax (HX1 1RE). A day of entertainment for the family from street theatre to circus performances to music and dance by street performers. An entertainment line-up you don’t want to miss out on!

A £3 weekend ticket and under 14’s going free, this food and drink festival taking place at The Piece Hall in Halifax (HX1 1RE), between 23rd – 26th August 2019, is a great way to celebrate street food traders, craft beer, kid’s activities, music and a variety of cocktails!

With ticket prices starting at £10 per child, and £12.50 per adult, and £11 for members, the Open-Air Cinema, at The Piece Hall in Halifax (HX1 1RE), is playing some incredible films for everyone to enjoy! With gates closing at 7.30pm, it’s a wonderful way to end an evening and the summer!
